I have already posted my October calender but I wanted to show you one of the wreaths I made for my DD's house!

I'll be posting on my blog later this week how to make it..so easy! So get your glue guns, glitter and paper out and commence crafting!  Can't wait to see everyone's creations!

August Challenge

Happy August first!  The summer is flying by!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful time!  My challenge for this month is for you to take a Papertrey Stamp Set and create your own designer paper. Then make a card using the paper you created.  Here is my card.   I used Shape by Design to make my paper and my sentiment came from Handwritten Notes.  I used CTMH ink for the stamping.  I stamped my saying on a piece of clear in stazon then put a piece of velum under it.  I used brads in the corners to hide the glue dots.  My base is Enchanted Evening paper by Papertrey.  I am happy with the out come!  Looking forwards to seeing what everyone comes up with!

July Papertrey Inkers Challenge

Happy July!! What a fun month! I find it enjoyable for so may reasons; the boys are out of school, no hectic schedule, we celebrate our glorious country's birthday, swimming, camping, grilling, ice cream......With the month of July comes hot weather and the need to slow down and relax. This month's challenge will help you do just that, relax your stamping process. The July challenge is to make a clean and simple card. Here are the details:
1. NO layers, use ONLY your card base.
2. NO embellishments (I heard that gasp...) No ribbon, buttons, glitter, flowers etc.
3. Embossing is OK.
4. Use either a brand new, uninked stamp set, or a long forgotten one. Try to use only one set, but multiples are OK, if you must.

I thought this would be a piece of cake, but goodness, did I struggle. I'm realizing I need a 12 step program for bling!! I caught myself putting little, teeny, tiny gems onto my bug...oopsie. Here is my finished card (after sending 4 or so to the trash)
Stamp set (BRAND new!) Lawn Fawn-On the Mend
Paper-PTI white
Ink-Memento Black, Hero Arts Chalk Ink-Punch, Spica pens in black and red
Enjoy the challenge and I hope everyone has a relaxing and fun filled July!

June Challenge

It's summertime and these are a couple of my favorite items.  I love to read especially with a good glass of iced tea.  It also seems like in summer I am always needing to put a tag on something, so I thought this month we could create a tag to use on an item this summer.

I will post my tag in the next couple of days, I have had some unexpected eye surgery so I am a little behind.

I hope you have a great time with the challenge, and a great summer.

May Challenge

Hi there Inkers and friends, its Danielle from Au Clair De La Lune here! Sorry this post is comin' 'round so late... apparently thats how I roll lately....extremely scatterbrained!

For this month's challenge I thought it would be fun to CASE a card from our favorite designer.
I think doing this can really help when you're not feeling very creative, or can't be inspired...aka mojo loss!
I chose to case a couple of cards from Betsy Veldman (bet you would of never guessed I liked her stuff huh!?) Just click on the links above my cards to see Betsy's originals.

I didn't have the same supplies, so I just put my own twist on things....

Now its your turn! I hope you decide to play along with us this month!

Happy April!!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their spring so far! The flowers outside my window are blooming and everything is green and gorgeous! (As it should be since it has rained almost every day for the past year here!) Anyway...

Yesterday I got the nicest surprise and it has inspired this months challenge. My mom who is the most thoughtful, selfless, sweetest person I have ever known came by my office and dropped this off:

(Please excuse the picture it was taken with my cell phone.)

It is the Heather Bailey lunch bag that I have been wanting her to make me and I am in LOVE with it. I am always grabbing my lunch at the last minute heading for work and dropping stuff everywhere, but no longer will I have that problem will I? Isn't it adorable? She is always doing nice things for me and my sisters. It is the little things that always make me smile and appreciate everything she does. Which brings me to this months challenge.

I challenge you to make a card, gift, or mini scrapbook for someone who is always going out of their way for someone else. It could be something small just to put a smile on their face. We definitly need more people in the world like them. Don't you think?

I will be posting my surprise for my mom later this week on my blog! I can't wait to see all of yours. You are all so talented and amaze me everytime I stop by your blogs to drool over your creations!

INKer's March Challenge

Your Discovery of Papertrey Ink?
With Papertrey Ink not being in any store, it is not as if we found it on the shelf at our local LSS. There is a story behind our discovery of it's existence. Granted some of us may have been PTI fans for four years, but still there is a story to tell. And I think each is worth telling. So what opened your eyes to Papertrey Ink? With all the products out there, something drove you to search them out. What was it?
For me it was this card on the Two Peas and a Bucket website Forum that drove me to search out Papertrey Ink. I loved the clouds and the sentiments, and just about everything about it. So my first order at PTI included the stamps and dies for "Up Up and away" and I was hooked.... oh yeah and I had to run out and buy a Big Shot to boot.
This challenge has several layers to answer throughout the month of March:
1)Tell your story of how you discovered Papertrey Ink (the trigger).
2) Using (the trigger) make a project for each of the March Make it Mondays.
3) Now that you've fallen back in love with your first love of PTI, use (the trigger) to showcasing the PTI Blog Hop Challenge this March.
I hope I have you thinking of all the different things you can do with your first PTI Love.
As I've mentioned before my (trigger) was "Up Up and away" Dies. So here are a few cards I made a couple of months ago (before copics).

Here is the card I made yesterday, playing with my new Copics and a few other PTI goodies ;)

Hope you enjoy the Challenge!
Post yours Here:

Made a button for the Inkers what do you think?

Now I've just got to figure out how to make it into a button... any suggestions? I need code...

INKers Challenge #1 - February

Hi INKers!  This is Linda, your challenge hostess for February.
We have been having an awesome February so far in Northern California!  So sorry to rub it in for those of you in the East or Midwest or anywhere else in the throes of winter!  But usually we are having cold and rainy weather this time of year so having this warm, sunny weather right now is so nice.  Our trees are flowering, the daffodils and paperwhites are blooming and the camellia bush outside my front door has the most gorgeous bright pink flowers.
For our first challenge, I will start simple: Create a project using the color(s) of your favorite flower.  Oh, and by the way, no flowers can appear on your project.  When you post your project, tell us what your favorite flower is and why it’s your favorite.
It’s as simple as that.  Use the color any way you want - paper, ink, coloring, etc.

Have fun!!

INKers Challenge Rules

Before I post our first challenge, I thought it would be helpful to post some basic rules:
  1. You must use at least one Papertrey product on your project.
  2. Post a photo of your project on your personal blog.  Descriptive information is encouraged but not required.
  3. Add a comment to the challenge post here with a link to the post on your blog.  We will look into replacing this with a linky tool.
  4. Visit your blog sisters' posts and leave some love.
  5. Challenges will be posted the first of every month and you have until the end of the month to submit your project.
  6. You may submit more than one project.
Feel free to combine this challenge with others, especially Papertrey’s Make It Monday weekly challenges.

Linda

Welcome Papertrey INKers

The first couple of weeks will be organizational for us as a blog group. From who I've chatted with so far this is new for us all. So there will be some trial and errors. But in the end we are after having a fun place to share, motivate and be inspired. The look of the blog will also go through a lot of changes as I figure out what all Blogger will allow me to do. So as you see things that you like or dislike, please leave comments. I am looking for this to be a group effort and to delegate so it's not on one person.

Challenges:
Linda has taken on the responsibility of the first months Challenge. We had discussed trying to expand on the Make it Mondays Challenge to encourage each of us to enter and win the PTI challenges. So I personally like it when a challenge narrows my options and makes me play with something new or explore something old, or play with a color I don't normally go to. What are your thoughts?

I think the idea so far is to do a challenge once a month, we can change this to every other week if we start feeling there is a need. So if everyone would like to sign up for a month that would be great. Just leave a comment on this post and first person to claim a month gets it. I'll take what ever is leftover.

I will be starting another page within the Blog for us to do more of this type of "chat" and we can leave the front page open for challenge talk.
